In the last few months, Ed's campaign for affordable prescription drugs, a real patient's bill of rights and improved public education has taken off with Nevada's working families.

"Teaching for Tomorrow" - August 24
With Nevada students getting ready to return to school, Ed laid out a proposal today to invest in our kids with smaller classes taught by well-prepared teachers. Ed's "Teaching for Tomorrow" Initiative is an innovative solution to the growing shortage of qualified math and science teachers in our schools.

Ed speaks at convention - August 14
Ed addressed the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles on Monday. Pictures, movies and audio clips from his speech are available in the multimedia section of the newsroom. You can also read his speech or articles from the Review-Journal and the Sun.

Ed exposes Ensign card scam - August 10
Today, Ed rebuked John Ensign for putting seniors at risk with his drug card scam in order to line the pockets of his drug industry backers. The campaign also released www.EnsignSeniorScam.com to document all of the problems with the drug card scams Ensign is proposing. Read the press release or articles from the Gazette-Journal or the Sun.

Ed addresses educators - July 31
On Thursday, Ed gave a major speech to the Nevada State Educators Association’s Summer Leadership Conference in which he called for bold action to improve public education, including creating high quality afterschool programs, rebuilding crumbling schools and preventing school violence. He warned that we cannot succumb to proposals like vouchers that would take us backward. The group of assembled educators gave Ed a standing ovation.

Ed denounces drug industry front group ads - July 24
Today, Ed condemned deceptive new TV ads from a drug industry front group called Citizens for Better Medicare. The ads, which attempt to deceive Nevadans about prescription drug reform in Congress, began airing in Las Vegas on Friday as part of the group's $65 million national scare campaign. Read the press release or an article on Citizens for Better Medicare's spending binge in the Los Angeles Times.

Ed gains six points in new poll! - July 19
A new poll was released by the Nevada Democratic Party today that showed Ed cutting John Ensign's lead by six points in the last month. Read more about it in the Reno Gazette-Journal.

Protecting Social Security numbers - July 18/19
In Las Vegas and Reno, Ed vowed to work for a ban on the buying and selling of Social Security numbers to stop identity theft and privacy intrusions, saying: "Everyone should have a right to privacy, a right to control their own personal information."

Mexico trip - June 20
To show just how much the drug companies rip off American consumers, Ed flew with a group of seniors to San Diego and took a bus across the border to Tijuana, Mexico to purchase prescription drugs at much lower prices.

Thank you for visiting the online headquarters of my campaign for the United States Senate.

I believe that we need a new voice to tackle the tough issues in Washington and to represent all of Nevada's families. I'm not a professional politician - I'm running because I want to make a difference fighting for the issues that are important to you.

November may seem a long way off, but we could really use your help. If you would like to volunteer on the campaign, please contact our office or fill out the volunteer form to get involved.

Thanks again for visiting and I look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail!
