Why is this camp different from all other camps?
At Camp K'helah Judaism is "caught," not "taught." While it is not religious in nature, great stress is put on Jewish values, ethics, culture, and tradition in a FUN, informal way. You'll find Jewish spirit reflected in the personalities of our staff, and in our songs, art, special events and games.
Our programming is created with active participation in mind. We believe that children learn by being involved. Our creative programming is designed for campers to have fun while gaining knowledge, skills, self-esteem and confidence.
Camp K'helah encourages children to grow within... while having FUN, developing new friendships, learning age-appropriate skills and creating positive memories to last a lifetime.
Camp K'helah emphasizes cooperative decision making, and non-competitive but challenging approaches to sports and games. A summer at Camp K'helah raises self-confidence, builds decision-making skills, improves social skills, and enables a child to discover talents and abilities they never knew they had. Our goal is for each camper to have a summer filled with fun, adventure, personal insight and lifelong memories, in a safe, positive and healthy atmosphere.
Food
Campers bring their own non-perishable dairy or parve lunch and drink. NO meat please. Any meals and snacks provided by the JCC will be kosher.
