Session 2: July 14 - August 1
Camp K'helah's Counselor in Training (CIT) Program provides a fun, educational leadership opportunity for campers who will be entering 7th-10th grades. CITs spend a portion of each day learning the skills necessary to become a camp counselor. This includes leadership training, creative programming, conflict resolution, first aid, and camp life. In addition, special activities and assignments will be given to help foster group unity.
CITs are campers, and fully participate in the camp experience. Field trips, and specialty
activities are included in the camp program.
CITs register for a 3 week session. Due to the counseling nature of this program and the limited number of spaces, prospective CITs participate in a screening process for the available spots.
This program will teach skills that will help 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th graders through the transition period from childhood to adolescence. CIT's and JCIT's (Junior Counselors In Training) will rotate among bunks so that they will be able to work with a range of age groups and counselors. In addition, special activities and assignments will be given to them to help foster group cohesion.
